Man dies of natural causes in grass fire south of Laurel

USA — An 81-year-old man died Wednesday in a grass fire south of Laurel.
David Larned was burning ditches around 2:00 p.m. when the fire got out of control. He tried to run, but collapsed and was burned in the fire.
The Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office reports Larned died of natural causes before he was taken by the fire.
The grass fire occurred near North White Horse Bench, a small road off of Highway 212.
The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department reports the fire burned between four and five acres and took about half an hour to contain.
