Australia — The Australian National University (ANU) has settled a long running legal case with its insurance broker over damage caused by the 2003 Canberra bushfires.

The bushfires destroyed property at the ANU’s Mount Stromlo complex, including the observatory, five telescopes and buildings.

During court proceedings, the ANU claimed Aon Risk Services was negligent in failing to renew insurance over certain ANU properties.

Both parties are refusing to say how much money the settlement is worth.
