Swaziland: THE Bush Fire Festival received a major boost from MTN Swaziland as the company donated a sum of E200 000 to make the event successful. The donation ceremony was held at Malandelas Lawn on Friday at the new VIP area.

MTN CEO Ambrose Dlamini, said they were excited as a company to be associated with the Bush Fire Festival.
Dlamini said it was part of the company to create a local identity “everywhere we go”.
“It is part of our plan to always be associated with big events in the country,” he said.
Dlamini mentioned that since MTN was the fifth biggest mobile telephone company in Africa, they wanted to give back to their customers in every way they could.
He said their partnership with Bush Fire would because they admired the way the event was managed and it also attracted key people in the society.
He said they wanted to brand the Saturday as the yellow fever as they will also be promoting their new launched product, the MTN Mobile Money.
Dlamini said although people still did not understand the mobile money product, if they can give themselves enough time to understand the product, they will find it useful to their lives.

Over 50 International media houses to cover Bush Fire Festival

INTERNATIONAL media houses such as CNN and Top Billing will cover the whole Bush Fire Festival.
This was revealed by House on Fire Director Jiggs Thorne on Friday during the official launch of the new VIP permanent stand and the donation of E200 000 by MTN Swaziland towards the Bush Fire Festival.
He said over 50 accredited international media houses will be covering the event.
“The three-day event has now attracted even international media, so they have requested that they cover this year event “he said. He added that other top international media houses had already started queering about the event.
Thorne added that for this year event, they were expecting close to 25 000 people for the event. “The Bush Fire Festival has become an international attraction as tourist from Europe come to Africa just for the festival,” he said.
Partnered
He added that they had also partnered with a South African company. Pro Sound, which was responsible for all the fan parks sounds in South Africa during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Thorne said their partnership with the company came late last year, when the company requested to provide the Sound System for the event without any cost.
“The company approached me and asked to give us their sound equipment for the event and we duly agreed with them,” he said.
The Bush Fire Festival will be held from 27-29 May. Tickets are still available.
