USA — Authorities say a San Bernardino County firefighter is hospitalized for smoke inhalation while battling a fast-moving brush fire that destroyed three tractor trailers.
County Fire spokeswoman Tracey Martinez says the firefighter is in intensive care Wednesday but is expected to make a full recovery.
The blaze charred two acres of dry brush before crews knocked it down in about 40 minutes.
Three empty trucks awaiting repairs on a nearby lot burned but firefighters kept the blaze from damaging several other tractor trailers and equipment.
Investigators say the cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious in nature.
The injured firefighter’s name has not been released.
