Austria — Dozens of firemen were kept busy by a forest blaze for hours yesterday evening (Weds).
The fire was caused by woodworkers when they refuelled their motorised chainsaws, officials in St. Gallenkirch, Vorarlberg, said.
Woodland of around 200 square metres burned to the ground, according to a police report from today. Around 150 fire-fighters engaged in extinguishing the blaze which started in an area with a steep gradient.
Meanwhile, two firemen were hospitalised in St. Pölten after coming off the road in their fire engine outside Wilhelmsburg, Lower Austria.
