USA — The City of Amarillo published the following press release to waive fees for disposal of debris from wildfires:

Acting under the authority of the Disaster Declarations issued Sunday, February 27, 2011, Mayor Debra McCartt has waived the City of Amarillo landfill fees for the disposal of debris from the Sunday wildfires.

The City received specific requests from the volunteer agencies providing free clean-up services to victims and from victims themselves to provide this service.

The City of Amarillo landfill fees will be waived for this disposal under the following terms:

1) The Landfill will accept fire-damage debris from the affected areas at no charge.

2) All debris must be brought in and disposed of in accordance with the state regulations governing disposal (no tires, no hazmat, must be scaled, etc.).

3) All parties bringing in debris must identify the affected residence(s) where it originated.
