Ghana — The Kwahu West Municipal office of the Ghana National Fire Service, is organizing a series of fire education programmes at the various markets in the municipality to help prevent fire outbreaks.

Addressing market women at Nkawkaw-Agbogbloshi market, on Friday, the Municipal Fire Officer, Mr Addae Baffour, advised market women to take precautionary measures to avoid fire outbreaks in the markets.

He urged them to put off all naked fires and electrical appliances before leaving the market and that they should also insure their stores against any eventuality.

Mr Baffour advised palm wine tapers, hunters and farmers to properly put off all fires after their operations to avoid bush fires, especially during the harmattan season.

The firemen later demonstrated the various methods of putting out fires to the market women.
