Australia — The fire at Yeodene near Colac started during a bushfire.
Malcolm Fallon from the CFA says firefighters have had to regularly monitor and control it, especially on high fire danger days.
He says that work is estimated to cost up to $250,000 over the life of the fire.
“When that sort of money came in as the possible cost, I was obligated then to go and get some opinion on what we should do,” he said.
“[I went] to the legal people to ask them have we done this before, where are we going and what do we do about it.”
