Swaziland — THE House on Fire team is one step ahead and has already started planning for the annual Bushfire Festival.
This was announced by the venue’s manager Jeanine Von Wissell who, said the festival would be held from May 27 to May 29.
“Preparations are already underway,” was all she could say. The annual Bushfire Festival, which is held at the kingdom’s quirky-cool, gallery-restaurant cum Afro-Shakespearean outdoor theatre has built a reputation as one of Africa’s hottest entertainment gigs.
The event has maintained a world-class entertainment line-up that has included Freshlyground, HHP, Johnny Clegg, the Parlotones, Thandiswa Mazwai and Oliver Mtukudzi, among others. The festival draws thousands from all over the world and contributes immensely to the Swazi economy.
Bushfire seeks to create a platform, not only for the growth and development of the arts, but also highlights and raises funds for some of the more critical social needs that face our country. This unique philosophy, Bushfire’s ‘Call to Action’, establishes the Bushfire Festival as one of the only events of its kind on the African continent.
The Bushfire Festival is a socially responsible event that features an arts and culture programme that serves as the vehicle to drawing attention and celebrates cultural diversity and oneness all at the same time. The social and eco-friendly nature of the festival is sure to set fire to any hidden creative or imaginative leanings you may have. The performers hail from around the globe to join together and share in a festival of positive and encouraging participants!
