USA —  A man attempting to put out a grassfire on his property on Union Hill Road with a tractor Friday afternoon is believed to have had a heart attack and was transported to the hospital, according to his neighbor, Jimmy Seabolt.

Mineral Wells EMS and the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to the 200 block of Union Hill road for a man having respiratory problems and a quickly spreading grass fire.

Responders performed CPR when they arrived, according to the radio dispatches.

The family was having a gathering for the holidays when the incident happened, Seabolt said.

Though firefighters were still on his neighbor’s property around 4:30 p.m., the fire appeared under control, Seabolt told the Index.

Fire units were called back to the property Saturday morning to quell a small flare up.
