USA — A 50-acre forest fire has forced the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office to evacuate homes near the blaze.
According to Texas Forest Service spokesman Mahlon Hammetter said the fire is threatening 25 to 30 homes on FM 356 and has already burned one house.
The fire started about 5 p.m. Hammetter said fire officials predicted to see very dangerous wildfires in East Texas today, because humidity was low and winds were high.
At about 7:15 p.m., the sheriff’s office called off the evacuation for some of the homes. An employee with the sheriff’s office said firefighters seemed to have the fire under control.
