Spain —  A forest fire in Cocentaina (Alicante) has already wiped out over 5,000 square metres of land after it was found out on Sunday lunchtime.

The blaze broke out near the Sierra Mariola nature reserve in the vicinity of the Santa Bárbara hermitage chapel and very close to a number of villas.

It took two hours for the fire brigade, with the help of three hydroplanes, to bring the flames under control.

They were initially concerned for a group of 70 Scouts visiting the chapel at the time of the fire, who became trapped inside it.

But emergency services disclose that all the boys were found to be unhurt.

In the end, in the city was no need to evacuate any of the homes.

It is not known how the blaze started.
