USA — A 12-acre fire near the Horsetooth Reservoir in Larimer County is officially out.
The fire was first reported to firefighters at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The fire came dangerously close to high-priced homes, but was seemingly protected by a ridge of rock.
One woman, who didn’t want to be identified, lives on the ridge says firefighters knocked on her door early this morning and she evacuated.
It took close to 20 firefighters with the Poudre Fire Authority to put the fire out. Nobody was hurt and no structures were damaged, although emergency notifications were sent to homes on Bighorn Crossing Road.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although lightning has been ruled out.
