USA —  Local leaders of the Mormon church are admonishing members of their faith to resist any temptation to submit false claims from a wildfire spread by machine gun training on a Utah National Guard base.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Herriman-Rose Canyon stake leaders addressed a letter saying a few members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were being dishonest on claims submitted to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The Sept. 19 fire started inside Camp Williams and swept into the Salt Lake City suburb of Herriman. It destroyed three houses, damaged a fourth, burned down outhouses and torched vehicles.
