USA — A member of the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department remains in the burn unit at a San Francisco hospital in critical but stable condition. Ben Hakala is lucky to be alive after he came in contact with a 12,000 volt electrical line fighting a 98 acre wild land fire on the south side of Highway 1 near Bodega Highway on Saturday. Hakala did not see the wire becaues the smoke was so thick. He was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial then airlifted to Saint Francis Hospital in San Francisco. A trust fund has been set up. Donations can be sent to the Bodega Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
