USA — Some would-be copper thieves may have gotten more than they bargained for when they cut down a power pole and sparked a grass fire, according Placer County Sheriff’s deputies.
Fire fighters responded to the fire on some abandoned property near Sunset Blvd. West and Fiddyment Road around 3:00 this morning in Roseville.
Fire fighters found someone had used a saw to cut down a power pole, possibly believing the electricity had been shut off.
But the wires were live and started a one to two acre fire. Fire fighters and deputies believe the people may have been after copper wiring.
