Canada — Fear of a roof collapse and a lack of power will keep dozens of residents of a Whitby apartment building from being able to go home for weeks after an early morning fire.

The blaze broke out in a low-rise apartment complex at 711 Dundas St. W., west of Brock St., around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Fire officials at the scene said damage includes a hole in the roof of the three-storey complex and several units were left with water damage.

It will be at least two weeks before residents will be able to return to their homes.

There were no reports of injuries in the blaze.
