USA — A fire burning in Fresno County has destroyed a house. The fire is burning near Elm and Dinuba. The fire is fully contained and no other homes are threatened at this time.

A house, three out buildings, a travel trailer and a car on the property were destroyed by the fire. It started around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon in a field next to the house and spread very quickly. The resident of the house was injured while trying to escape.

The fire is being handled by firefighters from Cal-Fire with help from firefighters from Fresno City Fire, Selma, Clovis and the Kings County Fire Department.

Investigators still have no idea how the fire started but said that the high winds and heat along with a lack of fire hydrants made the fire difficult to fight.

Firefighters are also working to put out another fast moving grass fire in Fresno County. The fire is burning in an empty field, near an apartment complex, at Willow and Church.

The fire started around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon. 50 acres of dry grass have burned so far and no homes or buildings are threatened at this time.

Firefighters from Clovis, Fresno and Cal-Fire have set up a perimeter around the fire and will start the containment process soon.
