Pakistan —    A plan has been devised to prevent forest fire on Margalla Hills during summer season. In a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, the officials of the ICT administration, Islamabad Police and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) reviewed preventive measures to check fire on Margalla Hills. Assistant commissioners and range officers of the CDA also attended the meeting. The deputy commissioner told the participants of the meeting that assistant commissioners would visit their respective areas and activate village committees for discouraging smoking in the forest. The patrolling teams of CDA range officers will also be vigilant in their areas and take action against violators. SSP Tahir Alam Khan said that police checkposts at Daman-e-Koh, Pir Sohawa and other areas would also extend cooperation to the CDA for keeping a strict vigil.
