India — Hundreds of acres of forest land was gutted in a forest fire that broke out at Veeranahosahalli forest range belonging to the Nagarhole National Park on Friday.
The fire which broke out at JM Halli, spread across the forest rapidly due to the breeze, sources said. Some miscreants set fire near JM Halli, sources added.
Assistant forest conservator Prasannakumar told reporters that such incidents were reported on a regular basis in the forest area. He said that officials were urged to prevent such incidents and they were also given shoot-at-sight orders.
