USA — Firefighters responded to a report from witnesses of a grass fire and person burned at the Wal-Mart on Collins Hill Road in Lawrenceville Feb. 18, 3:19 p.m.
Crews found an adult male with serious burn injuries. The man was transported by ambulance to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. He has second and third degree burns to about 70 percent of his body. The injuries are considered life threatening. It is unknown at this point how the fire started and the circumstances surrounding how the man was burned. The man’s identification has not been released. The incident is currently under active investigation by the Fire Department.
The blaze scorched a small area of grass trees directly behind the Wal-Mart store off Hillcrest Green Drive. The area is between the store and a nearby apartment complex.
