South Africa — Cape Town fire fighters have had a busy morning on Saturday, responding to at least 30 veld fires across the city.
Fire services said that hot and dry conditions are conducive to vegetation fires.
The services Paul Joseph said the small blazes were mainly caused by negligence.
We had approximately 20 to 30 bush fires, but no major incidents as yet. We advise the public not to throw cigarette butts out of their windows as temperatures are scorching, he said.
