Wildfire map: Flames spread over 25 miles of national forest land

USA — The Station fire in Angeles National Forest has been creeping east, toward the center of the San Gabriel Mountains. But its growth has been slower in the last 24 hours than it was over the weekend, thanks to higher humidity.
The fire’s maximum borders are roughly 25 miles from west to east and 18 miles north to south, covering the entire length of Angeles National Forest from Highway 14 to Altadena. That’s roughly equivalent to an area from downtown Los Angeles to Long Beach and from Santa Monica to El Monte.
Many of the park’s best known campgrounds and trail heads are within the burn area, but until officials can get in and survey the forest, it is not known what survived and what burned.
Remember, the orange perimeter on the map defines the fire’s maximum boundaries; it doesn’t mean everything within the boundaries has been destroyed.
