Indonesia — Authorities closed Tjilik Riwut Airport on Sunday following a drop in visibility due to thick haze that hit Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.

Airport official Usdek said Sunday the haze had caused visibility to drop to 700 meters, thus posing a risk to pilots.

“As a result, there were no maiden flights from the city to other remote areas across the province,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.

Nor were there any departures or arrivals by domestic flights between the city and other cities, he said.
