Belarus — The holding of the 22nd international colloquium on dynamics of explosions and reactive systems in Belarus will promote the prestige of the country in the world community, Sergei Zhdanok, director of the A.V. Lykov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute, noted during the opening of the forum in Minsk on 27 July.

“If we hold such scientific forum in Belarus, it means that we are known all over the world,” the scientist said. It is the second time Belarus has been receiving participants of the international colloquium on dynamics of explosions and reactive systems. In 1981 the forum was held in Belarus for the first time.

During the forthcoming plenary sessions of the colloquium, scientists will discuss a wide range of the important research issues connected with the dynamics of explosions and reactive systems. “These issues are extremely important for industrial security in any country. They help us increase efficiency in prevention and liquidation of forest and peat fires, various accidents including mining accidents,” Sergei Zhdanok noted. During the colloquium, the scientists will also discuss the up-to-date innovations in the field of technological burning, aerospace engineering, combustion in explosion and jet engines.

According to Sergei Zhdanok, the experience exchange between Belarusian and foreign colleagues will help Belarus integrate in the world science.

The 22nd international colloquium on dynamics of explosions and reactive systems is being held in Minsk on 27-31 July. Attending the forum are about 300 scientists from the European Union, the USA, China, Japan, Korea, Brazil, the CIS participating countries. During the colloquium, the scientists will present more than 250 reports.
