Greece — Greek authorities say a forest fire on the island of Evia has forced the evacuation of two villages where the flames are threatening homes.
The Fire Service says four water-dropping planes are fighting the blaze near the town of Aliveri, about 55 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Athens.
Smoke from the blaze is clearly visible in the capital.
Firefighting efforts have been hampered by strong winds Wednesday.
