USA — A brush fire in an artillery impact area in Camp Pendleton grew to 500 acres Sunday but is not a threat to any buildings, a Cal Fire dispatcher said
The blaze broke out Saturday afternoon in a remote northeastern section of the sprawling base where live munitions are used. The area is known as the Yankee impact area.
The fire is partially contained as of this morning and is expected to be fully contained by Sunday night, the dispatcher said.
