Cyprus — SWIFT action by firefirghters contained a blaze in forest area near Secret Valley in Paphos yesterday.
The blaze was put out a little before 6pm, although forces remained on standby last night in case of a flare-up.
Ten vehicles and three firefighting helicopters were deployed for the operation. No injuries or were reported.
Earlier, a fire near Kofinou, Larnaca district, was brought under control after burning down half a square kilometre of shrublands.
