Small grass fire controlled at Concord Naval Weapons Station

USA — A small grass fire was controlled about 40 minutes after it was reported late Saturday night at the Concord Naval Weapons Station, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher.

The fire was reported at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Port Chicago Highway and Driftwood Drive, according to the dispatcher.

The blaze burned about 2 acres and was controlled at about 12:30 a.m. today, the dispatcher said. The last fire crews cleared from the scene of the fire at about 1:10 a.m., she said.

No injuries were reported and the blaze did not damage any structures at the weapons station, according to the dispatcher.
