Forest fire threatens Trans-Baikal village, people evacuated

A forest fire threatens a settlement in the Trans-Baikal territory, people were evacuated from the settlement, the press service of the Siberian regional emergency situations center told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
We received at 13.10 Moscow time the information about the threat of spreading the forest fire on the settlement of Sibiryakovo in the Petrovsko-Zabaikalsky district of the Trans-Baikal territory. The fire has spread on the federal highway due to strong winds that poses a threat of fire for this settlement, the press service said.
People were evacuated from the settlement.
According to the regional emergency situations center, an asylum for children with disabilities is situated in the settlement. Some 238 children and two employees were staying at the childrens asylum. Some 22 one-storey houses, where 78 people live, including 25 children are also situated in the settlement. Residents of the settlement and inmates of the childrens asylum were evacuated. All children were evacuated at 14.00 Moscow time from the asylum, the press service said.
Some 114 people and 29 pieces of special machinery are involved in the fire fighting efforts now. No casualties were reported, the press service said.
