 Firefighters battle large grass fire at Coniston

United Kingdom —  A three thousand square metre patch of grass and gorse went up in flames near Coniston last night (Sunday).

Firefighters from Coniston, Ambleside, and Broughton battled the blaze on Yewdale Fell for more than three hours and eventually put it out using a light portable pump, appliance pump, beaters and knap sacks.

The crews returned to their stations at 1am this morning.
