Australia — The ACT Emergency Services Agency has confirmed the official bushfire season will end tomorrow.
The season was scheduled to end on March the 31st but was extended for two weeks because of the hot and dry conditions.
The recent rainfall has convinced authorities the official bushfire season can end tomorrow.
With the season officially ended, ACT residents will no longer require a permit to light a fire outdoors.
Emergency Services Agency acting Commissioner David Foot thanked fulltime and volunteer firefighters for their contributions, especially for their assistance of their Victorian counterparts.
“Despite a quiet summer for bushfires in the ACT, our firefighters were kept fairly busy with interstate deployments,” he said.
