Mottaki expresses sorrow on Australian bush fire

TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (ISNA)-Iran’s Foreign Minister in a phone conversation with his Australian counterpart on Tuesday expressed deep grief over Victoria State’s fire tragedy.

According to Australian authorities the bushfire started on Saturday and left more than 200 people dead, destroyed hundreds of homes and left thousands homeless.

The fire started in Southern Australia, was flamed by strong winds, sever heat and drought.

The wildfires also destroyed towns and homes in northeast of Melbourne and was fanned by winds with more than 62 miles speed per hour and temperature about 117 degrees.

The two officials have also discussed bilateral ties and the ways to expand relations.
