BLM begins hiring process for 2009 wildfire season

USA — The Twin Falls District Bureau of Land Management is recruiting young men and women to fill firefighting and support positions for the 2009 wildfire season, officials said Wednesday.
Applications are only accepted online from the beginning of December 2008 through January 31, 2009. Those interested should visitwww.usajobs.opm.gov.
Positions will be filled in the suppression, prevention, fuels, aviation and dispatch programs.
Applicants must be 18 years old by the first day of hire in late May, be a U.S. citizen and have a high school diploma or GED.
BLM fire jobs offer excellent summer earnings, annual and sick leave benefits, and travel to other districts or states.
The BLM will help interested applicants with the online application process at three open houses, all to be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
