Brush Fires Burn In Several Southern WV Areas

USA —  Firefighters with the Division of Forestry and five departments battled four brush fires set just Thursday afternoon.

Crews say someone driving a pick-up truck set the fires along Route 460 between Possom Hollow Road and Oakvale.

The fires are all contained at this hour but several acres of burned.

Because the area hasn’t seen much rain lately, any fire has the potential to spread quickly.

The Division of Forestry says there are eight brush fires burning in southern West Virginia.

Four of those fires cover at least 100-acres.

Remember Fall Fire Season prohibits burning between 7 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
