China — As the State Forestry Administration of P.R.C and the Office of the Armed Forest Forces Headquarter commanded, the first batch of 140 armed polices arrived in Hunan Province. Yesterday, the Hunan provincial government welcomed them with a grand ceremony. Vice-governor Xu Minghua addressed a welcome speech and assistant commander of the provincial military command Huang Ming attended the ceremony.

In the welcome ceremony, Xu introduced the development of the forestry construction in Hunan as well as the increasing possibility of forest fires and the potential courses. He extended appreciations for the care and supports of the state for Hunan’s forest fire prevention, and guaranteed a favorable living and training environment for the armed forest forces in Hunan Province.

The national policy of “North-to-South Temporary Transference” for the armed forest forces has been implemented in the past two years. In this winter, an armed forest force will be fixed to garrison in Hunan, which indicates a permanent “regular army” for forest fire prevention in Hunan will be founded, and a new aspect will be taken on to the forest fire prevention in Hunan Province
