USA — A wildfire has scorched nearly 300 acres at Fort Dix so far. The big problem is that the flames are near live bombs and ammo.
Officials said the fire started Wednesday and is in a remote area where soldiers conduct drills. There are no buildings or homes in the path of the fire. The live munitions make fighting the blaze tougher.
Word is the fort will let it burn itself out. There is also a forest fire burning in Camden County in the Wharton Forest.Nearly 100 acres are scorched, but fire crews said it is 60 percent contained. There is no threat to nearby homes, and no word on what started it.
