Forest Fire Still Continues In Antalya

Turkey — Forest fire in Manavgat and Serik towns of southern province of Antalya is still continuing in a wide area.
Forestry Deputy Director General Mustafa Kurtulmuslu told AA on Saturday that their priority was to prevent loss of lives and properties.
He said that the fire was still influential critically in higher parts of Sagirini, Karatas and Akbas villages.
Kurtulmuslu said that they had difficulty in controlling the fire due to strong wind. He added that the fire had destroyed 10,000 hectares so far.
Kurtulmuslu said that seven planes, six helicopters, 1,300 workers were exerting efforts to extinguish the fire.
Also, two people, Ali Deniz and Osman Kahya, were reported to be missing in Karatas village. Meanwhile, Ali Sari, who was reported to be missing yesterday, was found unconscious in his garden.
The fire started in Manavgat town of Antalya on Thursday, and spread to Serik town. No deaths or injuries have been reported so far.
