Cyprus — The forest fire which broke out on Saturday in the hills above Kyrenia is still burning.
Strong winds are hampering the cooling down efforts being carried out by firefighters.
A local official told Radio BRT that the fire is under control but that intervention from air is still needed.
The fire destroyed large areas of forest land covered with pines, cypress and sandalwood.
Yesterday, a “court” ordered three days of detention for three men who were detained on suspicion of starting the fire.
