USA — A squirrel met his maker Monday morning when he connected with a high power line and a transformer, resulting in a small brush fire.

The mishap happened around 10 a.m. in the 4400 block of Redwood Road in west Napa.

When the squirrel made contact with it, the transformer shorted out and the power lines arced, said Barry Biermann, CalFire battalion chief.

The fire burned a couple of acres before it was squelched by county firefighters.

No one was injured, and no structures were threatened.
