Serbia — A huge fire has today engulfed some 60 hectares of forest and meadows on Mt. Crni Vrh.
Assistant Interior Minister Predrag Marić, who is currently in the field with his men, said that MUP’s firefighters from the nearby Bor have been joined by their colleagues from Jagodina, Svilajnac, Poarevac, agubica and Zaječar.
Some 60 firefighters are also backed by two MUP helicopters who are transporting water from Lake Bor, assisting in putting out the fire.
Another helicopter, and members of the elite andarmerija (Gendarmerie) stationed in Ni, are expected tomorrow.
Marić said he hoped the wildfire would be localized during the morning Tuesday.
There are no reports of any endangered households in the area.
