Australia — The state trialed the Sikorski 61 Fire King over summer.

The machine has the capacity to hold almost 4,000 litres of water.

The Minister for Emergency Services, John Kobelke, says a report on its effectiveness will be handed down in a few months as the state reviews its air capability.

“The use of the helicopters that’s the helitac and the Fire king really extends the capability of our firefighting and has been proven to be very useful in the summer that we’ve just had,” he said.
