Baku, Fineko/abc.az. A forest fire occurred in Dashkesen region in connection with stable warm and dry weather over the last few days and strong dry wind on March 26.

The Ministry on Environment & Natural Resources reported that the fire was observed in Dastafur forestry.

“Efficient joint work of forest protection firms of Dashkesan with Khanlar and Gedabey regions helped prevent fire spreading to a wider area. But as the fire centre was on downhill mountain area, use of fire-fighting equipment was difficult and the fire was extinguished fully only the next day due to help of the Emergency Ministry. The level of the fire was weak intense and as dry forest grass was mainly in fire,” it was reported.

“A commission has been set up to clarify fire causes, establish material loss and take relevant measures.

In parallel seats of fire of various intensity, registered in Lerik, Yardimli, Gedabey, Guba, Gusar and Ismailli, have also been prevented. According to primary investigation, fire events occurred following careless use of fire in forest areas.
