Texas, USA — A massive brush fire roaring in Brooks County has firefightersfrom a dozen Valley cities working together to stop the blaze.

Flames errupted past 7 pm on Tuesday evening and are still in full force.Hidalgo county judge, J.D. Salinas has issued a state of emergency forresidentes living northwest of FM 1017 and HWY 281. Firefighters say the windwas the factor that sparked the blaze.

The fire broke out on FM 755 and highway 281 in the Linn San Manuel area.Some residents of the area have been evacuated and no reported injuries at thistime. Firefighters continue to be at the scene and are struggling to contain thefire due to the winds that are making it difficult to put out the blaze.
