Salina, USA — Homemade explosives might have beenresponsible for a small grass fire on east Schilling Road Sunday afternoon.

Rural Fire District No. 5 put out a grass fire around 4:30 p.m. alongSchilling Road east of Woodward Road. An area resident who reported the firetold authorities they saw two men in a white car, said Saline County SheriffGlen Kochanowski.

“They left the area right after the fire started,” Kochanowski said.

Authorities found what appeared to be two explosive devices made from a metalcontainer and wrapped in cardboard, he said.
