Manipur, India — Atleast 19 thatched-roof houses have been gutted in a wildforest fire which spread out to Maipi Mangsom village under Moreh Police Stationat around 11 am yesterday.

Most of the villagers were engaged in their jhooming cultivation work when thefire broke out.

Raphei Peoples’ Council, Moreh Block has appealed to the Government to providenecessary assistance to the villagers whose houses have been destroyed in thefire.

12 students hurt : Atleast 12 students of Slopeland English School, Khongjomsustained injuries when the mini-bus they were travelling in met with anaccident at Lilong Bazar at around 1 pm today.

All the injured students have been admitted to RIMS.
