Five teens charged over Toowoomba fires

Austrlia — Six people, five of them teenagers, have been charged with arson over three fires in the Toowoomba district, west of Brisbane, on Saturday night.

The first fire were reported about 8.45pm (AEST) in Glen Cairn Road, Forest Hill, police said.

The second a short time later was on the same road at Laidley Heights, with a third reported about 10.15pm (AEST) in Mountain View Road, Minden.

Five people have been charged with three counts each of enter premises with intent, arson, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

An 18-year-old Glenmore Grove man and a girl, 17, will appear in the Gatton Magistrates Court on March 3.

A 16-year-old boy will appear in a Children’s Court on the same day.

Two men, aged 24 and 19, both of Hatton Vale, will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A girl, 16, will also appear in a Children’s Court on March 3, charged with arson, entering premises with intent and obstructing police.
