Indian army mobilized to control fire in Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) — Indian army has launched an operation on Wednesday to control forest fire along the military line of control (LoC) that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan in Poonch district, local newspaper The Hindu reported Thursday.
The fire started in Balakote area near the LoC and later spread to other areas in the Mendhar belt of the district, official sources said.
The fire has also spread to some areas across LoC in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, the sources said.
However, no loss of life or injury has been reported so far.
