Custer, S.D., USA — The Forest Service is looking for any still photos or video taken during last summer’s Alabaugh (AL’-uh-baw) Fire in the southern Black Hills.
The fire killed a homeowner, injured two firefighters and destroyed 33 homes.
Forest Service spokesman Frank Carroll says the photos will be used for a training program so other firefighters avoid mistakes that were made on the Alabaugh Fire.
The two firefighters were burned before they could get into a tent-like shelter used as protection from fire.
