It dealt with tools for community based fire management planning that are intended for use in a process which is as participatory as possible. It had been developed so that it can be applied to any village environment in Nepal.

The Training programme was conducted in Chaukitole, Hetauda, Nepal from 9 – 15 October 2007. 24 local community forest users were trained (50 % participants were women).

The training programme was held under the support of the German Foreign Office, Task Force for Humanitarian Assistance and implemented by the Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC).
